With Xing Ren for cough and wheezing due to excess. With Xing Ren and Shi Gao for Lung Heat. With Gui Zhi, for Wind-Cold Excess conditions with fever and chills but no sweat. |
Sm. Armeniacae | Xing Ren | 5-12g | Stops cough calms wheezing, moistens the Intestines and unblocks the bowels. With Ma Huang and Gan Cao, for cough with profuse sputum, nasal obstruction and a hoarse voice. |
Ram. Cinnamomi | Gui Zhi | 1-12g | Releases the exterior, assists the Yang, adjusts the Ying and Wei, releases the muscle layer, warms the channels and collaterals to relieve pain and warms and facilitates the flow of Qi through the channels and collaterals and Blood through the vessels. With Ma Huang releases the exterior, and warms cold. |
